On May 15th, Andrew Shawa, a research student from the Enterprise Medical Imaging in Zambia (EMIZ) project, presented an engaging colloquium titled "Intelligent DICOM Viewers: Orthanc Plugin for Semi-Automated Interpretation of Medical Images." This talk was part of the 2023/24 CSC 5741 seminar series, aimed at bridging the gap between academic research and practical applications in medical imaging.

On May 15th, as part of the 2023/24 CSC 5741 course series, the Academic/Industry Colloquium featured an innovative presentation by Malaizyo Gabriel Muzumala, a research student from the Enterprise Medical Imaging in Zambia (EMIZ) project. His talk, titled "Semi-Automated Classification and Detection of Community Acquired Pneumonia," shed light on the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in medical imaging, focusing on its practical applications in low-resource settings.

In a recent seminar for the 2023/24 CSC 5741 course, Elijah Chileshe delivered an illuminating talk titled "Large-Scale Analysis of Medical Image Metadata" on 08 May, 2024. The seminar, held for MSc in Computer Science students from The University of Zambia, was a highlight in a series of academic discussions aimed at bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application in the realm of medical imaging.

Our submission to the Pan African Conference on Science, Computing and Telecommunications (PACT 2023) titled "Large Scale Analysis of Medical Image Metadata," has been accepted, and will be presented during the upcoming Pan African Conference on Science, Computing and Telecommunications (PACT 2023) conference. This paper delves into the systematic analysis of Medical Image Metadata encoded using the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) standard.
