EMIZ Team Showcases Research at the 28th MICCAI Conference in South Korea

Two members of the Enterprise Medical Imaging in Zambia (EMIZ) Project Team, Dr. Peter Chibuta and Elijah Chileshe, recently attended the MICCAI 2025 Conference held in South Korea from 23–27 September.

The MICCAI Conference, recognized as a leading global forum for medical image computing and computer-assisted interventions, brought together researchers, practitioners, and innovators to share groundbreaking work in the field.

Andrew Shawa Delivers Insightful Talk on Intelligent DICOM Viewers at Academic/Industry Colloquium

On May 15th, Andrew Shawa, a research student from the Enterprise Medical Imaging in Zambia (EMIZ) project, presented an engaging colloquium titled "Intelligent DICOM Viewers: Orthanc Plugin for Semi-Automated Interpretation of Medical Images." This talk was part of the 2023/24 CSC 5741 seminar series, aimed at bridging the gap between academic research and practical applications in medical imaging.

In a recent seminar for the 2023/24 CSC 5741 course, Elijah Chileshe delivered an illuminating talk titled "Large-Scale Analysis of Medical Image Metadata" on 08 May, 2024. The seminar, held for MSc in Computer Science students from The University of Zambia, was a highlight in a series of academic discussions aimed at bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application in the realm of medical imaging.
