Picture Archiving and Communication Systems

This project aims at designing and implementing Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) platforms specifically designed for public health facilities in Zambia. Our primary objective is to showcase the feasibility and potential benefits of cost-effective PACS solutions.

The aims of the project are as follows:

  • Conducting a systematic evaluation of popular Free and Open Source PACS platforms and frameworks
  • To compile a comprehensive set of requirements for designing and implementating PACS platforms
  • To design and implement an efficient, effective, useful and interoperable PACS
    platform
  • To systematically evaluate the efficiency, effectiveness, usability and usefulness of the
    PACS platforms
